HR Focus Group Supervisor’s Training: Monthly meetings to address HR issues in the workplace. Supervisor’s Training workshops are held twice a year to update supervisors on new and important human resource issues.
Legislative Briefings: You will be invited to local, state, and federal briefings with our elected officials and regulators, held throughout the year. You will also receive timely information from our legislators and the US & State Chambers that impact public policy and business regulations.
Workforce Committees: Join a committee related to construction, STEM, education, healthcare, and information technology as they bring businesses and educators together to shape training regimes for the workforce.
Transportation Briefings: Hear local community leaders and TDOT discuss current transportation projects. Meets spring, fall, and as needed.
Women in Business: Women share best practices and discuss issues relevant to work and home life. Meets bimonthly.
Young Professionals: Connect with other young professionals (40 and under) to enhance your professional career by engaging in community service, networking, and mentorship in Blount County.
Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival: Scheduled for May 4, this festival brings thousands of Bigfoot enthusiasts and Sasquatch seekers to Blount County for competitions, guest speakers and live music.
Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games: Scheduled for May 18-19, East Tennessee’s premier celebration of Scottish culture returns featuring the beloved clans, games, and athletes.
Hops in the Hills: Slated for June 22, this craft beer festival allows attendees to sample regional craft beer from the best breweries in the area.
Taste of Blount: Scheduled for September 11, Taste of Blount offers the community a sampling of the county’s best restaurants and food trucks.
