The Dialogue with Ray Clowers

This feature is a question-and-answer session with a new Blount County Chamber member. So here we go with our 25th installment visiting with Ray Clowers, Physical Therapist and Clinic Director for Alcoa Location at Champion Physical Therapy, which provides physical therapy services to residents and workers in Blount County.

What is your background? I served in the United States Army from 1991-1999 as an AH-64 Apache helicopter armament and electrical systems repairer where I excelled as a noncommissioned officer, squad leader and section leader earning numerous awards and decorations.

When did you get started? I earned a Bachelor of Exercise Science from Middle Tennessee State University, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2000. I then earned a Master of Physical Therapy and a Bachelor of Health Science from SUNY Upstate Medical University in 2006. I also earned a McKenzie Certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy in 2009.

What do you enjoy about physical therapy? It's rewarding when you help someone achieve their goal of returning to work or play...but also when you help someone walk independently so they are able to walk their daughter down the aisle to get married. Knowing I had a small part in that is truly special.
