Workforce Development

The  Economic  &  Workforce  Development  Council  exists  to  create  an  atmosphere  that  is conducive to improving economic and employment conditions in Blount County.

Workforce Development – To support areas of workforce development and education

•     Create Workforce Development Roundtable to include higher education officials, school directors, and industry officials to discuss the needs of our community as it relates to workforce development.
•     Support  the  goals  of  the  Innovation  Valley  Initiative  in  the  areas  of  education  and workforce development.
•     Create electronic resource guide that will serve as a tool for educators and employers.
•     Support the efforts of the Richard Williams Leadership Academy.
