The Tennessee Winter Beer Fest Celebrates its 7th year
On Saturday, February 17th, 2018 the Tennessee Winter Beer Fest (TNWBF) will celebrate its 7th year. The TNWBF will be held from 3pm to 8pm at The Carriage House Restaurant in Townsend.
The TNWBF began as an idea from Maryville resident Mike Adams, he simply wanted to put on a beer festival. Through conversations with several friends a board was formed and a charity identified to benefit from the event, New Hope Blount County Children’s Advocacy Center. The TNWBF has grown since its beginning, officially becoming a 501(c)3 in 2014. While the size of the event has stayed consistent, the donation amount to New Hope has grown reaching a record $25,000 in 2017!
The board of the TNWBF hopes to maintain or break its 2017 record and has reached out to Tennessee breweries and local businesses to achieve this objective. Breweries that will be in attendance for the 2018 event are Fanatic Brewing Company, Depot Street Brewing, Yee-Haw Brewing Company, Balter Beerworks, Crafty Bastard Brewery, Blackhorse Brewery, Schulz Brau Brewing Company, Blackberry Farm Brewery, Gypsy Circus Cider Company, Pretentious Beer Company, Black Abbey Brewing Company, Last Days of Autumn Brewing, Clinch River Brewery, Gatlinburg Brewing Company, Abridged Beer Company, Elkmont Exchange Brewery and Eating House, Hutton & Smith Brewing Company, Hexagon Brewing Company, Red Silo Brewing, Mill Creek Brewing Company and Calfkiller Brewing Company.
Several local businesses are sponsoring the TNWBF including Grayson Subaru, The Brewing and Distilling Center, Knox Brew Tours, Epik Transportation, The Causal Pint and Tri-County Portables. The Talley Ho Inn, Townsend Gateway Inn, and the Highland Manor Inn are all donating 20% from the rooms booked for the fest back to TNWBF. Multiple other individuals and companies have also donated to the silent auction which is shaping up to be the best yet!
