Japanese course offered to community
9/7/2012
Maryville College and the East Tennessee Japanese School again are partnering to offer a basic Japanese language course for the community. The classes, which begin at 9 a.m., Sept. 15 and continue every Saturday morning through Nov. 17, are open to people aged 10 to 100.
The two and one-half hour classes, taught by Maryville College students enrolled in Dr. Asami Segi’s Education 343: Practicum in Methods and Materials class, are held in Anderson Hall. Following the language instruction, native Japanese speakers offer 40-minute lessons on Japanese culture and traditions.
Tuition is $200 for the semester and is due by the first class session.
Detailed information about the curriculum is available at the school’s office.
