Foothills Kiwanis to Host BBQ and Concert Aug. 18

Townsend, Tenn. – Foothills Kiwanis of Townsend will host its fifth annual Blues and BBQ event on Saturday, August 18, at Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center in Townsend.
Barbecue will be served beginning at 5:30 pm by Miss Lily’s Catering. The evening’s entertainment will be provided by Maryville’s own “Josh and Jarrod’s Blues Brothers Tribute Show,” beginning at 7:00 pm. Both the meal and concert will take place in the Center’s covered amphitheater.
Ticket includes meal and concert and may be purchased from any Foothills Kiwanis member, or at the door, or by calling 865-216-1899 (credit card only). Cost is $20 per person, or $10 for children 6-12, or $50 for a Family Pass for two adults and up to four (4) children. The event is free for children under six years of age.
The annual event helps fund the chapter’s support of the Walland Elementary School, Townsend Elementary School field trips, Hearts & Hands Scholarship Fund, The Mary E. Tippitt Library, Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, The Angel Tree, and the Heritage Center.
The Heritage Center is located between the Townsend traffic light and the national park entrance, on Highway 73.
